LinkedIn Tips For A Better Profile

If you are serious about your personal brand, networking, or finding a great career then LinkedIn is the place to make that happen.

As the world's number 1 business network LinkedIn can make all these things happen for you, but you have to do your part!

Here are some helpful tips to tweak your profile and make the most out of connecting with people and businesses everywhere.

Right at the top of you profile is where you make the greatest impact, this is the first thing people see and it may be ALL they see if you're not connected to them. Here are some things to consider tweaking:

Use a professional photo, facing forward or towards the center. (click on photo to edit)

Ensure you fully use all the space available for your headline.

Add a background that represents you or your brand.

(click the pencil to edit the background)

To the right of your photo is a blue button that says "add profile section". Be sure to click it to add applicable sections. Each of these helps people get to know more about you. They also increase your ranking and help you get higher in search results. Add them all if you can.

Next is your about section. Create a few well thought out paragraphs that explain you and your brand well. This is your chance to tell more about who you are and why someone would want to connect with you or hire you.

Your profile is more than just a resume!

Note: Use this as an example, don't copy word for word. Be creative and come up with what describes YOU!

Add featured items to stand out.

Use plus to add and the pencil to edit.

Get some recommendations!

They are useful to decision-makers and hiring managers and they act as instantaneous references.

Be sure to give some too!

These are just a few of the things you can do but these particular items will give you a great boost when it comes to job searching, networking, and being found on LinkedIn!
